Default Getting Tow Bar Off.. Permanantly

Minds made up, tow bar has to go.

Simple can do at home in the garage DYI or do I need to get someone who knows about it to remove it?

might just unbolt depends how they have done it. or you could try grind/cut it off I'm guessing just be careful of the fuel tank and the sparks etc.

Grinding it off did come to mind, but after i removed the rear body kit, it looks like it may unbolt off.. but before i go touching anything anyone else have any ideas?

Id rather not grind it off, as I would like to remove as much weight as possible and by looking at it the tow bar goes onto this huge t-bar which would at least weigh a few kg's lol.

Take off rear bar ,unbolt the 4 bolts .Climb under the rear and there are 2 nuts near the fuel tank in the centre that need to be undone then its off .

Yeah should be all bolts. It is a fair bit of weight, but something worth noting; I have a panel-beater mate who reckons they added quite a bit of structural resilience to the rear end - ie a hit hard enough to write the car off without, wouldn't be anywhere near as bad with it.

Not enough to stop me taking mine off lol, but something to think about anyway - if you were just doing it for looks and didn't care about weight, you could always cut off just the tow lip and leave the rest, and fill in/replace the bumper.

looking at this today.. it does look alot more stronger been on there though...

In which possible ways will it ever be my fault if a car hits me from behind... if that was to happen that bad, someone else will be defiantly paying not me! So i'm gonna take it off!
