My eldest sons VT S Pak (V6) is making a funny whirring noise which only occurs when the car is in gear and the clutch has been released to the point it just starts to contact the flywheel or pressure plate and stops when the clutch is basically fully engaged. Got to be clutch but now have to contend with something I've never had to deal with before, a dual mass flywheel. I know you can't machine them, but is that the only thing that trashes them or is there some other issue I have to look out for? Or is it a case of just a visual inspection for grooves or cracks and if none visible just bolt a new clutch on and go?
