VT V6 auto noise..

between 1800 and 2200rpm and under load (going up hill) my vt has a weird rattling noise...like a buggered cat...however the noise is coming from the bellhousing!

could my flex plate be buggered or loose?

Hey mate I have the same problem at the moment, wondering wtf it could be. Checked the trans fluid and levels are fine, then again the old girl has 270,000k's the auto is probably starting to get a bit sick.

yer shooter my oil level is fine aswell. Its got 240,000 on her so thats wat i was thinking...its just strange and sounds terrible!

We have the same noise from our VT wagon and even Holden could not seem to find what it is. You would swear it is trans as it does it under load etc.
Did you find out anything about yours as yet?

My gearbox has 420,000 kms on it, so don't jump the gun and assume that your gearbox is too on the bad side.

Mine made a terrible noise in second at about 2500, turns out it was the engine mounts, just the way the engine was riding it just seemed as though it might have been related to the gearbox because it only happened in 2nd. Not suggesting that, that is your problem, but a gearbox with 240,000km shouldn't be too bad if it's been looked after.
