hi guys,
I'm kinda new to all this, but i thought I'll give it a go,
i have a 99 VT SS Gen3 auto, just had a HSV exhaust put in with extractors, but the problem that I'm having is when i got it back and decided to give it a bit of a thump it started to cough and splatter (with the odd "what sounds like a back fire) at me.
when driving like miss daisy on the freeways its fine but put foot down and off she goes again.
got plans to change spark plugs and upgrade leads. ( NGK Laser plugs and spitfire 8.8mm leads)
When driving on sat i thought i heard what sounded like a leak coming from the engine bay. i checked all hoses and found no cracks or signs of and lose hoses. did have the vacuum hose and sensors replace 2 months ago.
anyone got any idea's?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Almost certainly a bad plug or lead. Put forward your plans to change them.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
When did you last put fuel in it and where from?
how about idle, is it rough?
I had this problem with my old VT Calais Gen 3, turned out to be a faulty spark plug lead
fuel from BP, Premium unleaded, Tarneit, vic
Idle is good, only happens when driving.
Going to replace leads and spark plugs monday
Lack of spark, only really noticable under load
typical symptom of faulty lead and or plug
mmmm...ill probably have to have a look into it as well. thank you for the heads up.
thanks guys for all your help. looks like problem fixed. new leads and plugs.
found 1 lead red ( rest are standard leads ) warped in black elec tape with a slash in it. one of the standard leads just fell apart like nothing- replaced all and upgrade leads to spitfire 8.8mm twin core leads. new plugs as well the old ones look like crap. but my still look into the fuel side of things.
guys keep up the good work with helping people.
c u guys around.
