    Default wh caprice aftermarket side mirrors base plate help

    I want to get bmw style aftermarket side mirrors for my caprice. but the seller has informed me that I need to buy a base plate. does anyone know where I can get one of these from?

    No idea on the base plate but I thought I would remind you that you will lose your heated mirrors and they do come in handy sometimes.

    Thanks for the quick reply

    heated side mirrors??? didn't know the caprice had them, I haven't seen a switch for anything like that. was it on every wh or only series two ones?

    There is no separate switch, they come on with the rear demister. I assume you will have them.

    Doesn't the Caprice also have the automatic mirror dipping (passenger side) when you select reverse?

    Yes it does Bill, that also comes in handy. I don't know whether that would still work with aftermarket mirrors.

    Mmmm wagon man has a good point, but I think the dip mirrors would still work. I'm not going to take the chance and risk it though, that dip mirror saved my 20's many times. so looks like a will keep the stock mirrors.
