VXII S Exhaust system

Hi all,

1st post here.
I consider myself reasonably knowledgeable about cars, but i do not know very much about engines...
Im interested in getting a bit more power and noise from my v6 vxII s (without it sounding like burning rice). Ive been told that a whole exhaust system is my best bet. Can anyone recommend brands of headers, extractors etc and where i could get it done on the central coast (gosford/terrigal NSW) i googled a few places and i couldnt really find what i was looking for. Ive been told that this kind of modification costs ~2k.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I can send you a system for less than 1K, extractors and a 2 1/2" mandrel bent system. The only thing that stays on the car is the cat, which should be OK. There is no need to put a hi flo cat on an N/A V6.

As for brand, the money you spend on top of the line extractors will not be seen returned in performance gain over a less expensive brand.

This is my old car.

HM Headers, 2.5 Redback catback, rear muffler replaced with straight through resonator (hotdog).

It was about 450 for the headers, about 300 for the catback.

Thanks for your posts, ill have to have a geez at our vx when i get home from work so i can hear it. sweet ride tho! only mod i have on mine are some black 19"s (white car).

How much power should i expect to gain? also; anyone know anything about those performance chips from ebay, and if they are good or do they damage the engine?

abba, wouldnt posting a system of such a weight and size be massive? im gunna call a few places and ill get back to you, cheers.

You won't actually gain any power, but it will change your torque curve. You will increase your acceleration and top end.

Ebay chips are about as good as potato chips for your engine.

Postage on a system would only be around $50.
