so i had some starting and remote entry issues on my VT series 1 took it to an auto electrician and he said it was the BCM. i didnt have the money to replace t so he bypassed it so the car can start. What exactly does the BCM do apart from remote entry and immobiliser i dont have ABS, Traction control, cruise control or electric wiindows so is there any reason i would need to replace the BCM rather than just installing an aftermarket alarm so i get remote entry and the immobiliser features back as it is less than half the price?

It also controls, rear demister, boot release, air conditioning, engine cooling fan low speed, courtesy lamp delay and auto lights off.

even then, you have the cost of having VATS disabled from the PCM. and not to mention some of the critical things you lose ^^^ even instrument cluster, and vehicle diagnostics.

well the air con doesnt work properly anyway but it still works how it used to, the rear demister still works so does the auto lights off the boot release in the glove box still works fine. the instrument cluster works perfectly so does checking the fault codes. not sure about the low speed fan though. as far as i can tell the only things that arent working are the remotes and the immobiliser. The car is a manual S pak on Striaght LPG so it is only the low level BCM. can you thinkk of anything else it may do?
