Sunroof

Hi, I'm after a sunroof for my VT. I want a factory one though, I want it to be nice and original just like it was an option off the production line. Does anyone have any info on sunroofs or where I could go? I'm in Victoria. Also does anyone know if Holden supplys and installs them, or if they contract it out?

wouldnt have a clue but your best bet would be contacting holden and asking them if they do it or not...

If ur rides a VT, get onto The Brock Shop, HSV, or a stockist like autobarn.
I know that when autobarn sells me something I not sure about up here in QLD, they can always put me on to a specialist to help, advise, or do the whole thing!

I checked it out this morning, they want $2100 for a proper electric sunroof. Bugger em. I have to start saving.

Is it still regared as a big no no to put in a sunroof aftermarket? Due to not being able to seal it properly? Or are things a little better these days?

it depends on the quality.. find out who holden dealers use and go straight to them (unless they do it themselves - i doubt it tho). a bad sunroof job would really, really upset me

I had one fitted to my VR when i had it had nothing but problems holden told me the only to get a sun roof is to buy one in a car from the factory as they put all the braces and more seals inn them when the cars are built also had loads of trrouble selling car as no one wanted a sunroof it was a $1400. waste of time if you have one and it's fine thats great i dont like them but everyone is different and thats fine to . keep it side ways always.

If you want a proper electric sunroof and want it to be the same as factory you will be up for a bit of money, we looked at this a few months agao. The brand holden use is hollandia and the particular item you are after is a little over $2000. As for leaking, you get what u pay for- pay $300 for a pop up roof and leaks are inevitable, lay down the cash and get the proper sunroof installed professionally it will be structurally sound and you wont have any probs. As for reselling a car with a sunroof, in my experience it adds value.
