I recently starting hearing this strange thudding noise when I take my foot off accelerate at around 40-70km. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the brake pads or the brake discs. I stuck my head out the window also, and it sounded as if the brake pads were *clicking* against the disc... but I'm kind of unsure. I'm going to take it down to a mechanic to get him to check it out, but I thought I would post it here to see what you guys think it could be.
Cheers, Dave.
so you hear the sound only when coasting and not braking?
Sway bar link pin bushes - have a look at them.
i had the same thing mate, all sorts of ***ed up noises and clunking and rubbing and shit, the sway bar link pin bushes were rooted. went down to bursons in morrabbin $66 for a set of heavy duty link pins and bushes, fitted it myself in 30 minutes.
If not that, the clunk might be the diff when you take your foot off the pedal all of a sudden
You will probably find it is coming from the diff.
It's not specifically when I take my foot off the pedal, it's just I can't hear it over the exhaust when I have my foot down
I'm pretty sure it's the bushes from the car being low, she goes up on a hoist this arvo.
I'll post the damage/costs to fix it.
Dave.
il straight swap u for my rims![]()
What paint did you use to paint the disks?
Did you get paint on the brake surface?
Sounds like the brakes sticking?
