Urgent Towing Question

I have a VX SS sedan and tomorrow I am towing a car trailer with about 1 tonne load on it. Should I drive the car in DRIVE or THIRD?? (It is an Auto)
I also have a VR wagon and the onwer's manual says tow in Third.
I am assuming the V8 would be able to handle the load but I am asking the rexperts out there for advise.

my vs v6 wagon i when i tow car trailer with a load (car 4wd ect ) i drive with the power on couse when you sit around 80km it keeps it in third and extends the gears so you wont loose power

So if I stay in drive and have the power button ON it should be OK.?
I have never used the power button before, guess I don't do much towing !!

yea will be fine see keeping it in 3rd will rev bit to high when crusing at 100km so useing power will let it glide and change gear easyer under a load and less strain on the gear box
