check the error codes from the computer yourself. The how to section explains how.
Changed the filters lately ? fuel and air filters .
To reset computer disconnect battery for an hour or so, then reconnect and start up.
That's good advice.
The fuel injectors could also be a problem. Buy a bottle of quality Injector cleaner (Nulon brand is quite good) which is designed to be added to the fuel. Add this to a full tank of fuel when re-fuelling. Unfortunately few people ever use injector cleaner but it is good preventative maintenance in my view.
Occasionally run the car on a tank of premium. ( Yes I know it is expensive but I never use anything else in my commodore). The regular unleaded sold in Aust is quite poor. Do not use that ethanol blend fuel in your car.
When were the spark plugs last checked and changed? If you do not know it would be worth putting in new ones. Make sure you use the type specified by GM for the engine and the plug gap needs to be correct before fitting.
None of these things may solve the problem but , if the problem persists, obviously take the car to a good mechanic to trace the issue.

in what way does it run rough? does it seem to just idle rough , or not smooth in acceleration? prob a long shot, but mine felt rough at idle, ended up being the engine mounts, the engine had sagged onto the cross member causing vibration
Bothered to clean the black crap out of the throttle body yet?
Nulon Carby and Throttle body cleaner - try it.
cleaned the throttle body , ran injector cleaner and changed the plugs but still gets rough. mostly at idle.
never used ethanol junk. still annoying me

Check the purge hose on the bottom of the throttle body. Make sure it isn't split and it is connected firmly.
all good advice, this never really seems to get brought up when it comes to rough idle and poor acceleration, yes leads and plugs all worth checking, but if all else fails, this could deffinitly b your situation, its wat was wrong with my vt s II, the rectangular piece of plastic that your coil packs sit on is called the DFI module, it pretty sure its wat what keeps everyhting runnign on time and perfectly, once i got this replaced she was perfect again, worth a shot, i just got my mechanic to check mine out, roughly $250 for a new one, hope this helps
ill try anything to get this thing fixed. im going nuts. thank for the idea.
ill report back when (if) i find out
