G'day,
I have a 98 VT commodore and it is manual. I have been told by many that it's very rare to have a manual VT commodore. Does anyone have any facts about that? as in how many manuals they made etc and what not?
I love it being a manual though, it's so nice to drive. And it's funny because a lot of young lads come up and comment about it to me lol.
Thanks heaps guys,
Joe
factory manual commodores are rare from VN's onwards for V6 but are more common in a V8...i myself just recently purchased a VT 5 spd manual wagon
i own a vt s series 2 manual and i love it, recently put a billet short shift onto it, LOVE IT!! highly reccomend the billet short shifter, like driving a whole new car
good find with the manual vt joe
there not rare! sorry
95% or VT S PACS where manuel
i didnt say that the s-pack's were rare, i was saing that i love mine and that he did well to get a manual
Thanks man,
yeah i was stoked to have finding the manual VT. My friend was looking for one for ages but he couldn't find any Manual VT's so he got a VS instead lol.
but yeah, what is the short shift billet? Is that the gear stick? How much $$$ did u pay also?
Thanks heaps man,
Joe
Manual execs are very rare, S and SS models being sportier are more common, but I would still bank on the majority being auto.
Whoever said 95%, I want what you're smoking![]()

BTW, i recently had to put a new gearknob on my gear stick...and ever since i have done that, my gear still feels a bit loose....I'm not sure how i could of done that...but yeah, sometimes (very rarely) it's hard to find the gear...it happens like once every 2 weeks or whatever but it kinda scares me... lol.
any ideas?
Was gonna get my mate who's a mechanic to look at for me when he services my car.
Cheers
