    Unhappy Help!!!!

About to burn my Vx to the ground!

I'd say its my fault in the first place for listening to mis leading information, im hoping somone on here will help me.

i dumped the oil about 20,000 k's ago n put in some Penrite Sin5 (was recommended in their book) it was rattly as hell so i changed upto some Sin10 still the same so changed upto some Sin15. The car at that time had done about 120 XXX k's Now its at 145 XXX k's

Then i was told that changing from semi syn to fully sin will damage the engine, i was told this after doing about 20,000 k's with fully synthetic oil.

i have now gone back to penrite Hpr 15 semi synthetic but it is still tapping its heads off from about 1500 thru to 2200 rpm under load only and at start up , its definately the lifters.

it hasnt seemed to have lost power.

The guy i spoke to said that it may take a while for the engine to calm down n said after 5000k's dump the oil n put some fresh stuff in do it again after another 5000. And it should be ok.

Is this true or will it still keep tapping? If it does how long til the motor shits itself?

Changing from semi to ful synthetic oil won't damage your engine. If then engine doesn't 'calm down' about 10 minutes after oil change then it ain't going too. My opinion is just to change the lifters, it really isn't that hard of a job.

Apparently I have heard that the genuine Holden lifters are one of the best available. But I'm looking at getting COMP lifters from the US.

Sure if you want a cam then go for it. Fairly large amount of money, but not altogether hard. There are many cam manufactorers around, try checking out thier websites.

we ran a cleaner through the car for an hour trip. then dumped the oil and filter. put in a lite diesel oil. it will clean out the engine from all the gunk that builds up.
no it wont wreck your engine. if it doesnt work then the lifters need doing. about $1000 all up
i do as the voices tell me

I've got the same problem, took it to an engine place today and they quoted about 1k to replace them.

Drama is, they can't guarantee it will fix the noise though.
