Hey Everyone.
I noticed when i put the foot down in the VX, i hear a faint high pitch squeal about 3000rpm & above
I Have no idea what it is, all fluid levels are fine, all hoses are intact. the only thing i noticed today was the Transmission dip stick was not placed in correctly and not sealed properly, could that cause it?
Any ideas?
Not Sure, It cold be, What should i be looking for around the air intake?
The car runs perfectly, just only started making the noise.
not too sure, i just thought i'd put cai up there as i hear a sorta whistling sound at higher revs from the air intake, so i thought that might have been what you were hearing.
It prolly is, the sound it faint and comes from more of the left hand side, and your car does it, might be a VX thing lol
do you have an aftermarket stereo? amp etc
Normally you get feedback through the alternator and you will hear a high pitch squeal, it will change pitch as you rev your car.
start ur car n give it some revs will ur lookin in the engine bay
No, Have Stock stereo. It is a thought though, always have music playing when u hear it
I started it up, gave it some revs, can't seem to hear it. Even sitting in the car and when inside the engine bay reving it.
Will take for drive and see what happens.
check your belt, when my old one was getting knacked it would only make a noise when I booted the car, at idle and cruise the noise was gone, grab a candle and rub it on the belt while its running then give it a rev and see if its gone.
Well after the morning drive to work.
Booted the car a few times, same thing, stero on off, same result, its not the belt, its only a few 1000 old and good order.
Just sounds like air is rushing from somewhere, The CIA is all in good condition.
I guess ill know if it gets worse over time.
what exhaust tips have u got mate? i had twin 2.5 inch tips and when you acclerate hard the gases rushing through the exhaust were it splits from single to twin made a squeling sound.
