hotdog , or no hotdog?

on my vt s i have extractors with a 2.5" thru, and a hotdog just b4 the tip, thinking about taking the hotdog off to see wat it sounds like, if worse i can always put it back on, any thoughts??

it probly wont sound any different. a hotdog is pretty much just a straight thru pipe, it reduces the resonance a tiny bit and probly makes it a tad quieter but not noticably, i took mine off and the only thing i noticed was the note was a little less raspy and a bit more droney.

yeh originally i thought it was just for pure note value, but yeh its more like a muffler, which to a small degree i think changes the note, if all else fails i can always put it back on.
any one else got any experiences with hotdogs?

They're pretty good, Just don't those ones from Quix Servo's..... Will give you the runs for sure.

thanks rch-13z, do you think its worth taking it off to see wat its like, im not sure wat brand or quality dog it is, so not sure wat its gonna do if i take it off. i know it will drone a lil more if anything, wouldnt mind if it gave it a bit more meat to the note if i take it off
