Hi everyone,
I have a 2000 Holden commodore VT Auto, I have some kind of a problem. I compared my car pedrformance to my friends cars ( they have the same model ) and found that my car has a noticeably slow acceleration 0-100 in 12 to 14 seconds, the transmition shifting is also slow and some times it is stuck at one ear until you take your foot off the accelerator. one of my friends told me to try to unplug the IAT sensor and see what happens... well after unpluging the sensor the care worked impressively well, the acceleration becomes faster and smoother and the gear shifting is very smooth without getting stuch at anytime.
well I think I cant drive the car for long time without plugging the sensor back, so what is the problem here and how it would be fixed...
it may be as simple as fit a new one ive had one guy with a vt he had a reading of twice what you would expect for abient air temp and he fitted a new one and the difference in the aldl logs was proof that was it and the ecu uses it for fueling and does all the shifts etc off mass or air whuch the IAT sensor is part of the system and works wuth the MAF to calculate the mass air rate entering the engine they are cheap $25 or so cheap enough to try a new one thats for sure
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
Thanks for the quick response. I replaced the IAT sensor, but again the car went to the slow acceleration and transmission is again stuch at the moment when start moving your car ( I think it is stuck at the second gear ) until you re,ove your foot from the accelerator
