Hey Guys
My 2001 VT Acclaim wagons had a hard time lately. firstly all fault lights would appear on the dash once I started it up and occasion the battery light would come up killing the car while driving, took it to holden and they said the ABS unit was stuffed and it needed a new alternator, these were changed out and all faults dissaperared, the car run fine for a few days but now it dies all the time with no faults coming up, took it back to holden and now they recon there may be a crack/bent inlet manifold allowing coolant to get to the spark plugs, they also recon they found oil residue in the coolant, ne ideas as they recon its gonna be $1000 to fix / 4hours work and not sure if its worth spending all the dosh on it, if this will be ongoing.
cheers
sond more like an electrical problem, eny error codes?. its a lot of money for a recon that wont solve anything.
i had oil residue in the coolant of my old vt, its a common problem & is caused by a leaking manifold gasket. in NO way would that effect the spark plugs.
sounds like they are trying to line their pockets.
