Vt steering/ignition

Some help please peoples... Need to take out the ignition barrel/chamber how do you take out the 2 pins that are holding the steering column off?
Its a vt commodore executive series 2 wagon 2000 model. We were told that if we take the ignition barrel/chamber to holden? Basically get a new one then they program the key etc...not real sure.
