Aircon related issues, need help

Okay so i just got a 99 VT V6 and have a problem with the aircon, the fan speed switches work and it blows air, heating works fine, it just isnt cold...

From what i can hear the condenser engages when i turn the AC on, is it possible i just need a regas?

before i go paying a mechanic to regas it and find a few dozen extra costs, is there anything i can try myself?

Not much you can do. It probably does need a regas.
When you say the condenser cuts in, I assume you mean compressor.

try feeling one of the aircon pipes coming from the firewall (not sure which one), it should go instantly cold once the compressor cuts in. could be a number of things wrong.

Hi i also have got a problem with my aircon i have had it regased 2 times already and each time it seems to run out. 1st time he said he changed some seal after a month it was no longer cold so i went back then he said he serviced it and cleaned it and after awhile it stoped going cold again even without even using it.

So was just wondering if someone would be able to help me ouot because i have taken it to a place for air conditioning and they told me its the Compressor which cost $750 so i dont wanna pay all that money and find out its not that. So if anyone can help please let mw know thanks.

They will always tell you its the compressor,id say you have a leak.Fing somebody else that will find it for you.

If the compressor is kicking in then it has gas because they have a cut off so the compressor wont engage if there is no gas.This is to stop the compressor getting damaged.
