Default Grafting fibreglass monaro scoops into steel bonnet

Has anyone got some fibreglass monaro nostrils and grafted them into the factory steel bonnet?
How does it look compared to a genuine monaro bonnet?
    Any problems?

    Cheers

Pretty sure that the most common thing and the most easiest and cheapest way is to just get a replacement bonnet..................... I know a few people that have used this mob

    They're full fibreglass bonnets though
I'm talking about just cutting in the fibreglass nostrils into a steel bonnet , ie - your stock bonnet

You can buy steel bonnets with the nostrils i am fairly sure but i think like twice the price. I have never heard of it been done before how ever it sounds like quite the challenge

I would have thought grafting plastic/fiberglass and metal together would form cracks around where the two join, as they expand and contract at different rates (e.g. in the sun). Unless the nostrils can be fitted as an "insert" in which case it would work fine. I might be wrong but as i have no paint/panel expertise.

Personally i'd go an all metal bonnet or not at all (not a fan of fiberglass).

maybe I worded it wrong, maybe I mean insert, just so it looks all one piece and not an add on scoop
I'd love all metal but they are pricey as hell unless I find a second hand one cheap

I think i know what your are trying to do but i dont think it has been done before because of the complexity. How ever i would be def keen to follow how you go (plus how cheap you get things)

Flat Top in Dandenong do graft ons? these use zero shrink resins and warrant 3 years. they do monaro and GTO scopps on to the original steel bonnet and offer it as part of a Ute lid/bonnet combo
