hey all i hav a quick question, i have a 99 series 2 VT acclaim and am interested in lowering the back some more....the car currently sits on lows all round but would like to install super lows on the back....i have heard that series 2 VTs dont require a camber kit but am unsure hence the question i have is would i need to purchase a camber kit inorder to allign the rear wheels after installing super lows on the bak?
anyone who has lowered a series 2 VT i'd appreciate to hear some feedback regarding this issue
i apologize if there is a thread that has already bn set up for issues such as this as im only an occational poster on the just commodores forum
If it got irs rear end it prob will depending on how low it is.
you will still need a camber kit if you want to not wear out the tyres its only on the VX II the problem was all fixed, my car is on superlowers on the rear with no camber kit it does wear out the tyres....not extremly quick but still becomes costly in the end if you like tread on your tyres....
it depends 100% on how low the car is, lower it, wait two weeks, take the back tyres off. if they are starting to wear out the edges, then you need a cambre, if it isnt waring out the edges, you should be fine.
doesnt make a difference if its series one or two i believe. irs + dumped = camber kit.
Thanks to all for your input.....really helps clear up this issue i was facing for sometime....
IRS on a standard height VT will scrub out the insides of your tyres. They changed the design in the VX, so aside from dropping the rear end of a VX into your VT you're going to struggle with camber issues.
