Hey guys,
I had to get the PCM replaced in my VX Series 2 V6.
Now the tacho doesn't work, but when the engine is revving high enough the speedo will kind of behave like a tacho, but not really.
Just wondering if anyone knows what needs to be done to fix this?
Holden are asking $120 to fix it but I would prefer not to take it to them to get fixed.
To me it kind of sounds like it could be a wiring loom problem as I've done a manual conversion but using the auto loom - I was going to check the workshop manual to see if there are differences on the PCM connectors. I'm hoping if this is the case then I can probably move wires around and fix it up myself.
Any advice?
......Bump
the ecu and bcm are linked to each other and control the dash and security im surprised it even startsquick trip to holden to link the 2 should fix it ide say

The guys at the auto electrician linked the ECU and BCM but said they couldn't link the dash with it. Holden have quoted $120 to do it, which seems to be quite a lot to be honest. I'm going to be seeing a different auto electrician next week to check the link.
I just want to check - there is absolutely no possibility that there is a wiring issue? I noticed last night that the buttons for the trip computer no longer beep when pressed as well, which makes me wonder a bit.
Vt isnt really my thing LOL but if they had a tech2 like holden and linked the ecu to the bcm via the aldl plug they should be able to sort the dash maybe there scantool didnt have the function.some of the guys on delcohacking.net will know if you ask over there you may get the reply you want quite a few guys messing with the later model stuff of doctorbob may see this post and share his opinion on the issue he would have a better idea
