Hi Guys;
I have a '99 HSV VTII Clubsport R8 that I bought as a wreck that has been fixed up.
Its complete but not registerable without some expense; I am considering wrecking it out, or selling it as a whole car as i need it GONE.
What do you guys think it would be worth as a complete unit?, theres no damage to it and it runs and drives fine.
Cheers
Considering it isn't registered and it has been repaired, I'd say it's worth more as parts. You say it would cost a lot to register it, so that would be off putting for potential buyers straight away.
Thats right; the car would be worth more as parts but I am more interested in offloading it all in one go if I could get enough for it instead of parting it into millions of parts.
Failing moving the whole lot I would part it out.
Why is it a writeoff? flood damage?
Just get the VIV and sell it.
What is it worth as a complete unit?
whatever you paid for it and whatever you spent on it + a little bit of pocket cash.
Without seeing it, no one is going to be able to say.
if there is no damage and it runs fine, why cant it be registered?
Some of the parts have been salvaged from a friends vehicle that was also wrecked, but you need receipts for repairs or parts in WA and these parts dont have the appropriate paperwork so you would be up for buying $1500 or so in new parts that are already fitted.
I never actually tried to register it to be honest; I was told without these receipts its not possible so didnt persue it further.
What would rough pricing for the following be:
LS1 HSV Drivetrain (engine, auto g/box, electrics the whole shabang, 200k's)
Coulsen HSV interior (complete)
Full Genuine VT HSV bodykit
HSV Complete Dash (cluster)
4x HSV Rims (18" curb rashed, ok rubber)
Dont know if theres anything left worth selling apart from that (except hanging panels, lights etc)
you just get your friend to write out a reciept for the parts - they dont have to be brand new from a shop.
No you don't. You can easily just say that you bought another wreck or sourced parts from another vehicle you already had.
Was it a repairable writ off?
