Heys guys i just put a new set of 19" sigs on my car and ever since i have gotten a rubbing sound coming from the front wheels im not sure what it could be, and my cars nnot low its just sitting on fe2 springs, also it gets a tad louder when i brake but i just had the brake pads replaced 3 weeks ago. Has annyone else had this problem and have any ideas how to fix it?
Thanx in advance
Can anyone help?
sounds like the rubber is rubbing on the inside of your guard. What width tyre are you using as it may be too wide.
It would probably be rubbing on the spring on the inside. As your car corners, the spring compresses. this can result a small growth of the spring outward. If at the same time, your turning, then the rubber might be touching on the spring. Easy check - Gaffa tape a piece of paper to the spring, taping it only at the top. Drive around afew corners, check paper for marks / tears.
The track is not allowed to be increased, so alot of wheels put there extra width on the inside of the rim. So your tyre is sits more inwards than you think.
if thats the problem how can i fix it? ive heard of spacers but i heard there dangerous too :S
