hey guys the other day mt vt ss lost power. temp guage was on 3/4 . i stopped immediately popped bonnet and she was hot .i checked the oil and it was clear new looking but when i took of the oil filler cap white smoke came out . it was thick. i let the car cool down a while and started it it soounded good but obviously have blown head gasket . what of the bottom end though . do you guys think it will be ok

Is it a 5Lt or LS1? Did you lose any coolant? You may have a blown head gasket but was coolant coming out the overflow? If not it may not have overheated. If the car sounds ok then i wouldn't worry. I'm be concerned if coolant got into the cylinder may have bent a rod.

hey mate no coolant in cylinders but it took a lot of water. car going to mechanic . there goes a lot of loot. thanks for your reply
