    Cool Airbag Question

Hey all, just a question, is there anyway that i can reset the airbag sensors in a VT?
The light keeps coming on and it chimes fora bit.
    Thanks in advance.

The only way is with a Tech 2, which means a trip to Holden or some mechanics have them. Best to go to Holden and have it checked out because if there is a problem the light will come back on after it has been reset. There is also a possibility that the air bag(s) may not deploy in an accident.

i had the same problem in my vt ss mate the holden dealer tried telling me it will cost up to $500 to fix, what i did was got some contact cleaner and cleaned all the fuse contacts and plug contacts in the engine bay and what do ya no it fixed the problem....i found out later on that due to me pressure washing the engine water seeps into the contacts and stops them from contacting properly which sets of the sensors, not sure if thats your problem but might be worth a try....

As already mentioned, you need to take a trip to holden, i actually got mine cleared for free, the other day i took the drivers seat out to fix a problem with my new handbrake, i had disconnected the battery but not waited long enough so when i disconnected the wires to the seats the air bag light came on.

I just explained to the holden tech that i know exactly what the problem is, and it just needs to be cleared, he came out 2 minutes later with a tech 2 and cleared the code for me for free.

Unless you have done something similar (disconnect an air bag wire while the battery was still connected) then you might be able to just get the codes cleared. But if it has just randomly come on then you would want to be getting that checked out asap, as your air bags do not function at all when that light is on (so i've heard anyway).

cheers for the help guys. I havent taken the seats out but previous owner could have done something. i might give the contact cleaner a go and if that doesnt work i will have to take a trip to Holden.

Contact cleaner might help but the airbag warning light will still come on until it has been reset.
