G'day all, new to this forum here goes:
My 98 berlina recently decieded that when cruising on the highway, driving up a hill (even slight incline) that it will redirect air from the face vents to the windscreen. Has anyone heard of this before?
Check the thin vacuum hose connected at the rear of the intake manifold.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
I'm having the same problem, so I opened the dashboard and checked the vacume hoses behind the AC Controllers and they seem fine without cracks to let air out, and you said that I need to check other hoses on the engine side but I don't seem to find them. so I would be gratefull if anybody could tell were to find them...
Thanks
this happens sometimes with my car but it does it for maybe 10 seconds and comes back on the face. although it only does iit when your pushing the car hard or the car is under stress. wierd
i have this problem with my VT too picked the misses and new baby up from the hospital today it was 36 degrees by the time i got home i'd had enough. So pulled the car apart the sarvo checked all the vacuum lines but they seem ok, There is a plunger thing you can push to make it blow air on your face i'm thinking of holding it in and filling it with expander foam![]()
This is a common problem with all VT VX models.
The mode vacuum servo motor splits a diaphragm internally and can't hold vacuum when the engine has extra load on it for more than a few seconds (as A/C vacuum is generated by inlet manifold vacuum).
You can buy a new servo from the dealership for next to nothing and it's easy to change. Pull the old one apart and you will see the split diaphragm.
Its all good, another stinkin hot day today and i cant wind the drivers side window either since it died. so i jammed an 11m ring spanner in there. Now it would blow the eye brows off ya head
