VX Power window button sticking

Hi guys,

The power window switch that operates the front passenger window from the center console in my Vx is sticking i.e when you push the switch it stays in the down position and won't come back up unless you flick the switch back up. the window itself operates fine it's just annoying if you only want to crack the window open a tad as the switch always sticks. Will i have to take a trip out to a wreckers to get a new part?? Anyone else had this problem?

Pull the switch out of the housing and pop the cover off. Give all the inside a clean with some metho or similiar and you will prob fix it.. What you will find is that people have splashed coke and O.J down there over time and causes them to foul up..

as boganv8 says but be careful when yu pop the cover off the switch it has little pegs and springs that can bounce out and you will always find they bounce under the seat rails... good luck

Another common which would more likely b the case is those "pegs" that mojo is talking bout, over time the bottom of them get rather hot from sittin on the metal contacts so they start 2 melt down.

Wen they get 2 a certain point they wont b able 2 use their own spring 2 push themselves back into the default possie so if thats the case find some rear switches from the wreckers n swap them over. The rear switch pegs r the same as wats in the main power window block so it'll b cheaper 2 use those.
