    Question antenna problem

got a minor antenna problem... although i listen to cd's most of the time anwyays, when i flick it over to the radio, the antenna will automatically arise, it gets stuck on a certain point and goes "de de de de de de" and then stops because it can not extend anymore but it should be able to another 3 inchs or so.. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem..?

    hey kizza,

the problem you have is that your mast in your antenna has broken and can not push you antenna all the way up and is getting stuck.

all you will i go down and get yourself a mast and cable, the antenna part number if i remember correctly is one of these- ap250 or ap256 from areopro. go to your local supercheep to find one. rrp is about $35-$40

and if u need a hand changing it let me know and ill give you a run down.

Mine was doing the same thing, not quite going up far enough, as well as not retracting completely into the guard, with the usual clicking noise at the end of each cycle.

I found that one of the sections of the arial was not quite opening fully, so I help it open and found an old bend mark/kink. I worked on this section with a bit of sandpaper, a set of pliers and some light oil, and finally got it back into shape enough for it to retract and extend fully.

It has been working fine since. Just be carefull not to make the mark worse than it is when you start the job.

its not worth it if you don't use it, plus the antenna is ridiculously long anyway.
