Sorry to ask this guys I have just been stressing about it a bit..
I'm looking at buying a VT Calais (maybe tomorrow) and everything is sweet with it apart from the fact it has a spoiler... Now I know it would be much easier to just leave it there but i'm really not a fan of them lol, I was just wondering if you can take them off without there generally being too much evidence of it being there... so hopefully i wont have to get the boot resprayed S:
Thanks for reading and sorry if it's completly stupid or has been asked before...
If you remove the spoiler you have to do something about the holes left there. That means having the holes filled and resprayed. Some people use grommets to fill the holes but that doesn't look so good. You could look for a second hand boot lid in the same colour but sometimes there could be a slight difference in colour.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
call up a panel beater and ask how much to get boot holes on a VT re-weilded/filled and resprayed.
it looks taky if u leave them there and dont do anything about it, plus water and gross things can get it there.
i think it costs roughly around $200-$400.. its worth it if u dont lyk the spoiler. im going to do it to my VZ soon
goodluck with it![]()
Duck tape, sticky tape, electrical tape, your choice mate.
I've been through this its a pain in the neck but if you don't want to spend the money to fill them then just spray some paper the colour of your car then cut out little circles or squares whatever one then sticky tape it over the holes works great for me and you cant even notice it, it also keeps the water out of the boot. Just don't use grommets, it looks like shit.
Get some grommets and colour match them to the car?

The VZ is here! About time!
3 options.
1. leave it on (worst option in my opinion.
2. take it off. bog the holes and spray boot.
3. use rubber gromets to plug holes.
yes I must say a Calais/berlina shouldn't have a spoiler.. damn the bastards that bought them new and chose to have a spoiler!
but yeh as Adriianz said you have those choices..
best bet befriend a panel beater lol..
Duct tape? Grommets?
Whatever happened to fixing the holes properly yourself? And it doesn't mean welding.
Filling five small holes so they don't crack and leak, then touching up the boot, has to be the easiest job to start with if you are inexperienced at body work. Even if the painting is beyond you, filling the holes and priming them then having someone else paint them won't cost much.
If the edges of the holes are lightly punched down to enable the filler to key into the panel and sand back smoothly, the repair can be completely invisible after painting.
i got mine filled with the caps from supercheap,
mine arnt really noticable because my car is dark but i spose it doesnt phase some people
