Hey guys,
Its a 1997 VT, 5 speed manual.
Have suspected that this part may be stuffed, when i accelarate its sluggish, and also a whistling noise in the cabin neear the passenger feet, like when ya change the fan mode switch from demister to feet area liek how makes that "Pssshhyy " noise, its like that but louder as i accelarate, also idle it is rocking from like side to side like a muscle machine, not that hard core though ay! But um also is running like spark plug has gone.
Just wanting to know what the part is called that i have highlighted in red is called, and what it does if someone can tell me please.
(looks kinda like a regulator of some sort, like an air regulator on an air compresssor, but this on also has like some wires that go on the top, loke oxygen sensors)
P.s In the real close up side view, its missing the part, well as far as i can see, just put it there to show where should be!.
Are you referring to the bar going across your engine bay? That would be your strut brace buddy... Nothing to do with the whistling lol. You probably have a vaccum hose lose somewhere.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
Nah man, i ain thtat much of a retard. Ha Ha
I said that its missing in that close up, and which the strut brace is on ay. But thats ok.
Nah vaccum lines are all good checked them all, got soapy water and squirted in where noise is, and bubbled from the little thing, its like a little round sealed unit type of thing ay, with a sensor in type kinda. Cheers brother
invisible blow off valve?

I think he maybe talking about the throttle cable or the Cruise Control Cable going to the Throttle body.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
Its not a cable. Ill get a picture 2moro of it and someone tell me what it is ay.
The rocking side to side could be caused by a stuffed engine mount.

Are you referring to the EGR valve, regulator like thing with a hose that connect to the plenum chamber just behind the throttle body, and the other sid to the extractors?

That would be the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve which will redirect exhaust gasses back into the intake under certain driving conditions.
Is it the pipes that are leaking or is it the housing itself?

I don't remember where the charcoal canister is on the VT/VX. But that isn't it
Yours seems to look quite rusty so I wouldn't be surprised. Personally I have not heard the sound they make when they leak but you might be right that its faulty.
From the picture you can see how a metal tube runs from the exhaust to the bottom of the EGR valve then a metal tube from there to the throttle body. It may be the EGR valve or gasket or it could be one of the metal tubes.
