Default 180k Service - Quick Question

Hey guys, Ive been told by a few people that modern cars don't go out of tune like old cars is this correct? my car is due for its 180k service Ive lost my cars Manuel so im not sure whats due too be serviced at 180k so if someone would be able to post it up for me would be great I own a 2001 VX S...

I can change the all the oils myself but if modern cars go out of tune ill be more inclined too take it to holden for a tune up

According to the owner handbook, the 180000 km service is just a minor one ie. oil and oil filter is changed. The rest are checks. However, brake fluid gets changed every 2 years regardless of km travelled, and coolant gets changed every 2.5 years regardless of km travelled. If yours is manual, the clutch fluid is also changed every 2 years regardless of km travelled. If you are mechanically minded, you can carry out your own checks eg. suspension, exhaust CV joints etc etc. Cheers

For your info, the 190k service is also just an oil and oil filter change. However, the 200k service is the big one ie. spark plugs, fuel and air filters. But thats 20000 km away!

According to the book, the V6 spark plugs are changed every 40k. The V8 is every 80k. Whether they need changing is a different matter, however I am only going by what the owners manual states. Cheers.

With modern cars, the engine management system efi etc, the car tunes itself. The old cars had carbys, ignition points etc which required to be tuned. The cars manual for the VX never mentions anything about a tune.

thats right the old cars had distributor and points which needed udjustment and cleaning points with the ecotec v6 its ditributless and has coil packs iam pretty sure theres no tuning involved apart from the changing of spark plugs.

My Vt has 150K on the clock and recently it was not starting or running as good as usual.
I replaced the spark plugs and the ignition leads. Its back to its old self now.
I replaced the ignition leads on my VS a while ago as it started to shudder/hesitate under load (up hill or overtaking). I got the advice from this forum.
