    Default Pulleys and bearings

    Hi Guys,

    I'm new here so hello!!

I have a VX II S pack (supercharger)

The car had been sitting doing nothing for around 7 months and have just had it serviced and found some items need doing, one of which is a noisy / scraping squeaking noise. From researching the forum it seems like it is a pulley, have put the screwdriver to the test and can visibly hear what I think is the idler pulley making scraping noises, atleast more than the others.

My quick questions: I hear responses regarding bearings and pulleys, If i buy the pulley from a auto shop does this include bearings? or when I pull the pulley off the bearings are still there and are seperate, sorry for the dumb question i've just not touched a pulley before! So if i replace the pulley do i need to replace bearings aswell or are they all as one?

Can you tell me which pulleys are reverse thread and if everyone is feeling helpful, what size socket / spanners will I need to do the job, don't have any tools with me!

    thanks in advance

    Matt

The pulleys and bearings are the one unit. Just take the old one off and put the new one on. Only the tensioner arm pulley is left hand thread.

15mm or 5/8 I think. To remove the belt turn the bolt in the centre of the tensioner pulley anti clockwise, then when you have removed the belt turn that bolt clockwise to undo it.
Draw a sketch of how the belt runs to make it easier to put back on.

accentstencil, thank you once again! really appreciate your help.

I'm hoping it will just be the idler pulley and not the tensioner pulley!
