Noise from left hand side of Engine

Have a '99 Executive and done just over 200,000km. Recently have heard a noise coming from the bottom left side of the engine - sounds a bit like a supercharger, although annoying. When I accelerate it gets louder and faster (as though it's something to do with the belt). The noise is also getting louder every day - any suggestions on what it could be an if it's serious?

Probably one of your idler pulleys, common for them to wear out and make a hissing sort of sound.
If your looking to do it yourself just grab a large screwdriver, start the csr and place it on a NON MOVING part of each pulley and put your ear against other end.
You should hear which one it is.
If your not doing it yourself and sending to a shop, prob best to get them do do all three, which they would prob tell you anyway, cos at same stage later the others will fail and youl save yourself cash on labour cpst.

Thanks for the reply. Ended up taking it to my mechanic and it was one of the idler pulleys - was practically about to fall off.
