hey guys
anyone got any info on stroking a v6 ecotec, been looking at come reacing on there set up to take it out to a 4.2 ltr 255ci, thinking about getting it done to my VT S II, and one got it done or know if its any good or not?![]()
There was a thread a little while back about someone stroking a bewick 6... It was pretty much concluded that it's a waste of time. It'll be slightly more unique, but the power output versus the cash you spend is not going to be worth it.
only really worth it if you need to change the internals for forced induction anyway.
mate, just buy a 5L-5.7L engine and convert, you'll run MUCH better power for the same price, if not much cheaper.![]()
Yeah look if you are planning on rebuilding the engine down the track and making the inside stronger down the track for boost, yeah sure its a good idea. Because of the massive labor costs in stroking it, its really not worth the power gains as a single mod, it needs to be a mod used in conjunction with other big mods.
As far as kits go, C.O.M.E do a good one.
Call Pro-Stroke Engines.
they stroked a 3.8 Litre Ecotec and got it to pull in the 13 mark down a drag strip
ask about Ricky's VS Stato and the power its making.
GOOGLE THEM![]()
