Are VT VX VY gen3 gearboxes the same?

Hey guys im lookin at buyin a new auto 4 my Vt gen3. I was just wondering are all the gearboxes identical and will they all bolt up and function without any drama? cheers

Hey Sly,

Any Ecotech gearbox bell housing will bolt up to your Motor. However if its a VS one you will need to change the tail shaft as they are different. I would keep with your VT one as they are lot stronger built.

i think he's got a v8 mate, just thinking....


For the LS1 gearboxes, they should all bolt up the same, especially between the VT-VX, i'm not sure about the computer side of things though? these gearboxes are heavily controlled by the electrics. I'm sure someone here will have some insight

haha thanks guys yeah its an 8 lol. yeah im pretty sure they would bolt up the same the main thing i was worried about was the electrics and all working corectly.

They did not change anything on the 4 speed box for the GEN 3`s to VY I`m sure, VZ maybe some changes made.
