Hey just wanna ask is there a drain plug to get all the old power steering fluid out? gonna change the fluid as i dont think its been done for ages well not from me.. and roughly how much does it take to fill.
No, you drain it from the return hose. What you do is undo all hoses, remove bottle, to drain out what you can. Put it all back except the return hose, leave it unattached from the fluid resevoir. Block the hole and top up the fluid. Run the car for 1 or 2 seconds and purge out the fluid until its bright red in colour, reattach hose. Its not much as approx 750ml is the dry fill capacity so buy 1 litre of trans dex 3. Then bleed the system by turning the wheels lock to lock with the cap off. People may like to add different or better methods, but this is how i do it. Nulon transmission/powersteering additive can be good as well to use if you have a bit of transmission fluid lying around. Otherwise Nulon Synthetic fluid is good to use in the powersteering where it would be beneficial.
