Firstly, have you fixed the problem?

why in gods name would you put cheap woolworths oil in ur car ???? Its not even rated for a VT grrr. Use the Havoline oil from woolworths, Havoline Premium or something. Even better use the Delo 400 Multigrade. Highly excellent stuff, will go toe to toe with most synthetics. There is always oil on special for $12 and Supercheap, Autobarn etc Castrol, Shell etc.

Anyway best way to clean the engine now is run a short oil change on 2000km on some Repco Diesel 15w40 oil which is rebottled Mobil Delvac MX. This is the oil i am running now for a flush and after i try a few other oils will be my permanent oil. If i had any other car i would still run it. SO go get the Repco stuff, and a couple filters. Autobarn now have Valvoline filters for $2 on special. Run for 2000k's but in the first 500km or so change the filter again, and top up the oil. Then continue to run this oil or whatever you like. The top performance engine builder for Subaru STI recommend this oil so it is more than good for our commodores. It is SL rated for suitable for petrol cars, but has a CI-4 diesel rating which means it has excellent levels of detergents and anti wear additives, hence why people who know about it love it. Its very robust, with synthetic added to it to reach some of the ratings, its a sleeper oil, as its only around $26 a bottle. It carries a HN2134 or similar number, which is a Holden GM oil spec for Commodores on dual fuel so its more than suitable if anyone is concerned running it in petrol car. Its just a label. For cleaning this is good stuff. Good luck !
