    Question Boot Plugs

Hey all, i have a 99 series 2 acclaim with the s pack body kit, basically i want to take my rear spoiler off but i was wondering if anyone here knows a place where i can find boot plugs to plug the holes so water doesnt enter my boot... im in the south east suburbs of melbourne so any help would be appreciated....n before anyone suggests weld the boot i am aware of that option but i dont have cash for that.... ive looked around the forum to see if anyone posted this type of forum before but i had no luck... if there is one already set up for this then sorry but yeah would like to know asap... i took of the spolier the other day and am itching to take it off again....

You might find them at Clarke Rubber if you have one near you. Auto accessory places like Supercheap often have little packets of grommets and plugs.

Sticky tape, duck tape, electrical tape work great, grommets; work well, look like shit.
What i did was i had some left over car paint, sprayed some paper with it, then cut out little squares from the paper, then sticky taped the paper on the car, looks good, cant notice it and it keeps the water out good. You do need to replace them every month or so (sticky tape starts to get dirty, although still keeps water out) but its worth it.

just save up to weld the holes, i cant see how people think tape or those black plugs (unless your car is black) look better than the spoiler.

I was going to get mine welded up/painted this week, but the bank has had other ideas for my money.

Plug's are fine in the interim, and contrary to what other's have said, look ok, and last longer than tape..Tape look's dodgy...

The money ur gona spend to weld the holes and re- spray boot lid ur better off buying a new one will prob end up costing the same, or find a second hand one same colour or re spray that one, labour isnt cheap these days and even if u weld that one after a while will pop out and show in the sun ive seen it on previous cars b4 and looks shit so ur really not saving anyway just my opinion!

If i were you i would not worry about the boot and work on your income. Meanwhile if you really want those spoiler holes gone take my advice, up there somewhere. ^^^^ Then later on you might as well buy a new boot with no spoiler.
