Default Cold Air Induction on VX Commodore S-Pack

Hey ive been doin some research on the SS big Mouth Cold Air inductions available for my vehicle! On the info supplied with the big mouth growler kit it says i can expect horse power gains of approximately 12kws. However, our friends Mace engineering are supplying an enclosed pod filter setup for like $300 bucks, as opposed to $538 dollars for the growler. My question is, arent the growler kit and the setup provided by Mace similar? Mace says i would only gain like 5kws which doesnt really make sense!
Can anyone help me out??? What would be your suggestions??
    Thanks guys!

    Utterly different set ups.

On a VT - go the MACE. Full stop. OTR's aren't as effective as they claim.

yeh i know they are different. So although the big mouth says i will gain up to 12 kws thats not necessarily true?? I thought the Pod would be more effective anyway. Also i wanna put it on a VX so there shouldnt be a problem with defects or anything coz its enclosed right?? Thanks for your reply mate!

I highly doubt any cold air intake on an ecotec will net 12kw. That about as much as a set of rockers make which is probably the best mod to do for the ecotec.

As for our cold air intake kit it doesn't involve drilling screws into the bodywork and is enclosed unlike our competitors products, making it legal for use

I thought it seemed like a ridiculous amount to gain from an induction. Is there a way i can get a hold of one of your kits without having to make the trip? and if so will it still be legal if i install it myself?
