5ltr Fluctuating Temperature

Hey Hey,

I am after a little help diagnosing a temperature problem; this afternoon after getting down the street from work, my dash starts beeping at me stating that the engine is "hot"; there was nothing unusual about the trip, the air conditioner was on, it was a warmish day...

On the 70km trip home the engine temperature varied anywhere from under medium (where it normally sits) and HOT where I really don’t want it to sit. Oddly enough the car never stayed hot for more than a few minutes, then the temperature would drop, then the temperature would rise. At idle the engine temperature would drop back to normal operating temperature, thermo fans remained on.

Any ideas on what this could be? Coolant levels are normal, and the above happened with the air conditioning on, and off... I am thinking dodgy thermostat?

or maby you need to flush your system with a air/water gun

if that dosent work then try thrmostat
