    Post VX Power Window Problem

My driver's side window is stuck closed. When I push the switch down, the relay in the fuse box ticks madly away, but no movement. Is this a motor problem?

The little white plastic clips that fit in the window regulator can snap and causes the arm to get jammed. The clips are a couple of bucks each Pull the door trim off and have a look.Removing VT/VX door trim

Thanks for the responses. All the other windows work ok (under a separate relay). Replaced the driver's window relay, but same deal. I've taken the trim off, disconnected the mechanism from the window, and tried the switch again; still clickety-click. The window itself isn't stuck, the clips are out of the guides, so does it sound like a dead motor? What do I need to replace if it is the motor? Do I need to replace the whole mechanism? Thanks in advance.

Just hooked up 12V to the unit, and it works in both directions. So what are the alternatives?

i had a similar problem and after swapping over all the switches it ended up being the loom in the door ( common fault) i replaced the loom and all worked well , although it had taken neally a week to work out what it was.
