vx overheating and cooling just as quick?

HI I am wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem? I changed radiator after having hole in it and filled coolant as per haynes manual. Each time i drive it (short trips so far) it goes right up to red and dash shows "hot" i turn it off and wait approx 2 mins then turn it back on and the temp drops to normal, when it is hot it reads 105 then drops to about 87 and runs fine until it cools and i start it and same happens. thermostat seems fine and got no idea why this is happening. I have checked fault codes and all are fine also. The only thing i have found while researching this is i opened bleed valve while car running and read that this is not the thing to do, What now??????????????????

You probably need to bleed the cooling system.When the engine is at normal operating temperature and with engine running, open the bleed valve and let the air out. When coolant comes out and no air you are done.

i did that when i filled it, thought i must ve done it wrong, maybe i'll give it another go and see if it makes a difference, thanks again

hey accent stencil cheers after opening bleed valve and nothing happening i ended up blowing through the radiator cap until coolant came out but as soon as i had finished the temp went up...... should have known that i had to keep radiator cap on wile it was running and open bleed valve..lmao.. she runs perfectly now gave it a thorough beating and stayed as cool as the bourbon thats waiting for me....thanks again
