Default Moving the fuel tank to fit twin outlets. done it?

hey guys, wondering what to do next for my vx ss i decided it look into fitting quad tips.
wanting to have the same look as the utes with their twin exhaust outlets, wondering if anyones done it?
i know that its a bit of rootin around to get it,
wondering the costs of attempting such a thing?
keen to hear from someone out there

How much research have you done on this? Would it involve getting a tank from a ute or similar setup of smaller capacity?

I looked into this for my VP. Was told it was less than $1000 for a custom fabricated tank (which shocked me, thought it would be shitloads more)

Maybe ask around at a few welding places to see what it would cost for the size/dimensions you need.

What about using a tank from a ute, it would have the correct width and probably depth, just not sure about height and mounting points being compatible.

The tank is in a completely different place in a ute (just behind the cabin, under the tray)

I don't know the physical shape of one, but the mounting points would be completely different. Would be easier just to get one fabricated to your exact specifications.....

Yeah i thought the mounting points would hav2 be modified if anything, and because the sedan has a different undercarriage at the rear than a ute the utes tank wouldn fit anyway..
Custom fab looks like the way to go! Hav to ring around a few joints and get some prices

I rang around and was surprised when he said it would only be $1000 for a custom made 120L tank. However i hadn't actually taken the car into them to show what i wanted.

The ute tank is a different shape as well. Won't even go close. See if you can get a Monaro fuel tank. But a custom one may be cheaper.

I don't think the Monaro rear end will fit, but there are Monaro kits available for the sedans.

I heard storys of cutting a section off the tank and allowing the pipe to flow along the side safe. You will lose some tank capacity.

But this custom tank sounds the better way to go.

Also a guy on here biohazard ?, He had a VZ Monaro bumper custom made to fit his VT sedan, Took a small section from a VX SS to make it work but there is your dual outlets.

whether it be this way which mr clubsport did
    a)

    or

    b) buy a monaro fuel, bumper, and exhaust,

or c) buy a custom made tank and then get a custom exhaust made, and cut out the bumper

Monaro bumper (or even just the skirt) would need to be modified to fit.

You do know the monaro chassis is different to allow the dual exhaust, so even if you bought a monaro fuel tank you'd be out of luck...

A ute chassis is different and a fuel tank is mounted in a different possition aswell...

Custom tank/fuel cell or doing it the cheaters way as you posted the pic above is the only way.

underneath of a vy ss pretty much same as your vx underneath

    hmm.
cheaters way sounds like the goods atm.
but the pipe will be exposed because my ss bumper isnt low enough,
mr clubbys is genuine vx clubby rear bumper sits lower than mine,
hence covering the pipe in the pic..
    hmm.
