Convert VX seats to full electric

Hey guys,

Is it possible to convert standard leather seats in a VX to full electric? My VX has semi electric seats, but i would like to change the frame over from a statesman/caprice if possible... (EG keep the actual seat leather/shape, but have the statesman mechanical part)

has anyone done this before?

I'm not sure about the actual seat foam part fitting but if it helps I upgraded my VX Berlina to full Calais electric seats. All the smarts for the Calais are in the seat so just the power & earth wires need to be connected. As the passenger side had no electrics I spliced into the drivers side and ran 2 wires over to the passenger side. Added 2 female spade connectors, plugged in and bingo - full electic seats.

I have a suspicion that if the Statesman seats have memory then it may be linked into the BCM for the different key memory settings that also control radio and climate etc. Out of my depth if that's the case

I'm looking at putting vt Calais full elec leather seats into my Vx berlina series 2 and worrying if there is anything I should know before I proceed.. I only have power to the driver seat so guessing I'll have to run wires to passenger seat. anything I should worry about in terms of airbags? I don't think my Vx has side airbags..(any way of checking)

yep u'll need 2 get ur pre tensioners re set im pretty sure.

If ur swapping the rails over u'll need 2 do some slight re trimming i think 2 so u can gain access 2 the rear 2 bolts.

i've done it and have the full 8 way electric seats

just disconnect the +/- from the battery before removing the seats and you wont trigger the warning light, you can get the 2 pin plug socket from any auto store

really???? I have removed dozens of seats from VT-Z and never knew this!! >.< always needed the fault codes cleared afterwards to get rid of the airbag light

it's in the repair manual

disconnect -/+ and wait 10 seconds

I was working for a caryard at the time, didn't bother reading repair manuals
