Default VT Executive trip metre thing

    Hey guys,
For my 98 VT, for some reason the 'trip metre' doesn't come up on the little digital screen which i skip through with the mode button. Only the total Km's, speed limit beeper and the KM's left until empty are shown. For some reason the trip metre is no where to be seen...how do i enable that or reset the whole thing ? (besides the total KM counter since it's not possible...lol)

    Cheers,
    Joe

I don't think the Executive has the trip meter.

Im Sure They all have a trip meter so you know how may kms you get from a Tank.
Maybe Disconnect the Battery for a few mins and then see if it pops up to reset the system?

To reset the trip meter make sure you are on the trip mode, then press the up and down at the same time to reset it

Yes, I know that they have a Distance to Empty reading but the OP asked about the trip meter, as in Distance to Arrival, Time to Arrival, Trip Time, Trip Distance etc.

Dont hold up down, jsut press and release quickly. Just thought id clarify Also, to enable trip computer and etc without having to disconnect the battery, hold (i cant remmeber the combination), either mode down, or up+down while you start the car and keep holding. mode+up takes you to secret menu,

but its either mode down or up+downt aht you need.
one resets service reminder, the other lets you enable/disable info from the cluster

Yeah I know, I did mean the trip meter, not the distance to empty, I use The trip meter to see the distance i travel on a Tank. The distance to emtpy is a load of B***S**T lol Says i can do 890kms lol

    It's an estimation only.

To turn items on and off in the menu, im pretty sure you hold the two arrow buttons down while cycling the ignition to acc. Once there i think it's the mode button you can use to scroll through the options and then turn them on or off.

Yeah i am after the trip metre, not the KM's until empty...i always get excited when it tells me i can do 800km's in one tank hahah

I want to do it the right way, i've had my battery replaced and it didn't change anything. It did have the trip meter but it dissapeared...i think because i held down the up and down arrow...

So if some1 could give a step by step basis on how to get it back...and how to use it...that would be sooooooooooo lovely!

    Cheers,
