VT series 2 V6 aircon compressor crunching

just started doing this yesterday.

only when i turn the air conditioner ON, never during or when i turn it off, i hear the usual CLICK then a loud and vibrating grrrrrrrrrr (best i can describe it) it vibrates the whole car, its like a grinding crunching noise, this going for about 1-2 seconds, after that no noise at all and it gets cold still, not as cold as it should, but it still seems to be working


- i replaced the heater core 2 weeks ago
- Just got the aircon regassed 1 week ago

any ideas of what it is? im thinking the aircon compressor is rooted in some way, it can't be a bearing coz it would make noise the whole time the aircon is on? i am stumped
