ls1 rear main seal replacement

Hey guys, im replacing the auto in my vt in the next couple of weeks and wondering how much more work would it be too replace the rear main while the auto is out as i have heard that these commonly leak. thanks

Once the auto is out just undo the flex plate/Ring gear and the rear main will be behind that. Pry it out and refit the new one.

Also sometimes the is not the rear main that leaks but the sump gasket... just something to look at
