Climate control problem

can someone give me idea of what could be wrong with my heater/aircon fan.

I have a VX ls1 berlina with single zone climate control.

Driving along today and the fan (heater/aircon) just stops, Then 5 seconds or so later starts again, then runs for a minute or so and stops.

Now it will run for bit then stop. just keeps doing it. dosnt matter if its in auto or manual mode (climate control) and what speed i have the fan set to.

I have tried it with aircon on or off and heater set to hot and cold makes no difference.

When it first did it today, im guessing being 3million degrees that you turned on the climate control, it didnt just come on itself?
Does it come on if you turn it off?
Is it just the fan? or does the climate control itself turn on and off?

climate stays on, once it goes off cant turn it back on. have to wait for it to do it it's self
