    Default VT - Jammed Window

    Hi,
My other half put the window down (Front left) and then back up then half way down again, then when we stopped to get out it wouldn't move. I wouldn't have done this, but I think it's within the normal operating capacity of a car window.

The window is jammed, the car has power windows but I can hear the motor having a go when I operate the window switch.

It looks like the rear base of the scissor lift has popped out of its rail runner.

The window is completely jammed - I just want to get it up at least for obvious reasons. I'm wondering if I should disengage the large winder gear from the electric motor in order to get it moving.

    Any clues?

    Cheers

Sometimes the scissor lift will pop out of the little white plastic window runner .You can pop it back in .
Line up the nob on the scissor arm with the plastic runner and using a small G clamp or a pair of vice grips you can force it back in . You might have to inch the window up or down into position to do this .
If that fails you can always pull the plastic runner off the other end of the scissor lift and manually push the window up then wind up the mechanism till it hits the bottom of the window and that should hold the window up . The plastic runners only cost a couple of bucks from holden.

I ended up drilling the rivets out to remove the whole regulator... half dead servo was locking everything in place.

Mine was easy to remove as the back foot had already come out of it's runner...

Shit I hope it's easy to put the thing back together, I read about tilting the window forward but I couldn't seem to do that.

Just pry the old arm out of the plastic runner with a screwdriver then slide in the new plastic runner ,line the hole up with the knob on the scissor arm then use a small clamp to press it in .
I have to do one of mine next wek so i might do a" How to " and post some pics.
